Sustainablility

Carbon reduction – Constructing homes with timber frames helps to reduce the carbon used in building a house.

Timber has the lowest carbon cost of any commercially available building material. For every cubic metre of wood used 0.8 tonne of CO2 is locked into the structure. Every completed timber frame home saves about four tonnes of CO2 compared to traditional brick and block construction.

Environmental protection – Organic and non-toxic, timber is a naturally renewable building material. All Kestrel’s timber is obtained from guaranteed sustainable forest sources.
